EASY CLASSIC CHICKEN ADOBO RECIPE
Classic chicken adobo dish that is easy to make and enjoyed by those who try it. It's a little saucier than conventional adobo and goes great with rice.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 (3 pound) chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 large onion, quartered and sliced
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- ? cup low sodium soy sauce
- ? cup white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Directions:
Step 1
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil. Cook the chicken until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Place the chicken on a platter and set aside.
Step 2
Add onion and garlic to the skillet; sauté for 6 minutes, or until tender and browned.
Step 3
Add the soy sauce and vinegar, then season with the bay leaf, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Step 4
Return the chicken to the pan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes, or until chicken is tender and cooked through.
